Jeff Elwell, first Winthrop finalist, visits campus Tuesday

Winthrop University will host one of its presidential finalists Tuesday in a public presentation where the candidate will take questions.

Jeff Elwell, professor and dean at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, is the first finalist to visit campus as the university gets closer to naming its 11th president. The event will be held in the Whitton Auditorium in Carroll Hall from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Two other finalists – Dan Mahony of Kent State University and Alan Shao of the College of Charleston – will be at public events on Feb. 27 and March 3, respectively. All finalists’ presentations are scheduled for 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in Whitton Auditorium.
