Does Gas Authority need such a big truck?
As I traveled down Cherry Road recently and stopped for a traffic light at Oakland Avenue I noticed a big fancy Ford Sport Trac, a top-of-the-line truck, in the lane to my left and then noticed the sign on the door indicated York County Natural Gas Authority.
I question why this regional government needs to spend this much money for such a fancy truck when a less expensive F-150 would do the same job. In my opinion this is excessive spending for a regional government that is supposed to be not for profit.

Helmets aren't the primary issue
In your haste to advocate motorcycle helmets, you have intentionally misdirected the readers' attention from the real crime of failure to yield the right of way, and put the onus on the victim. It is not a crime in South Carolina for motorcyclists over the age of 21 to ride without helmets. You have presented no supporting evidence that not wearing a helmet had anything to do with the victim's death.
Rather than to dishonor the death of every single motorcyclist by drum-beating the fact he/she may or may not have been wearing a helmet, use your words to save lives, not tread on the tragedy of death. Had the motorist been exposed to motorcycle awareness training either in school or while applying for his or her driver's license, maybe a life would have been saved.
