Think carefully before voting
In just a few more weeks, we will have a new president of the United States. Each voter is responsible for who he or she will vote to put the man of their choice in this most important office for four years. I believe we are living in the most critical time since World War II and we need a president who can and will do the best job to keep us safe and take care of this disastrous money crisis.
I wanted to write what is wrong this time about selecting a president, and anyone could write a book on what is good and bad with the choice we have with these two candidates.
We should know all we can about each of these candidates before they get our vote. It is certain that one of these candidates can do a better job than the other, so don't vote for McCain because you are a Republican or for Obama because you are a Democrat. Vote for the one you believe that can lead us through this most difficult period of this great nation. Before you place your vote, please think on many things but especially these few things. We have a liberal Democratic Congress, and if Obama does win the election, you will have a two-year senator who is the most liberal of them all as our president, plus probably a new Supreme Court justice will be appointed during the next four years.

You say it can't get much worse than what we had, but don't bet your life on that, as you may be deeply surprised. A nd what you have is what you will have for too long a time. The ACLU will have a heyday.
Let school board do its job
Some people in the Clover school district have decided to criticize the school board for plans that involve Clover Middle School. People claim the school is a "second rate facility." If people think that any school in Clover school district is "second rate," they should visit some of the schools in other parts of the state that cannot even afford nets for the basketball courts.
Some folks have no problem with living in Lake Wylie and driving 30 to 45 minutes to work in Charlotte, but they have a problem with a high school being 15 minutes away. The Clover school board and administration have done a great job over the past 10 years and will continue to do a great job if folks would leave them alone and let them do their jobs. The success that Clover has enjoyed in academic, athletics and extracurricular activities would suffer extremely with a split 9th-12th grade population.
Lee answered call for help
I live out off Herlong in a new subdivision with a close-knit community. The two entry roads are Eastway and Goudlock. While the construction was going on, the trucks and equipment damaged the two entry roads so badly there wasn't any asphalt anymore, just gravel.
I called everyone for help from the city and state but no one could fix the road. Finally, a friend told me to call York County Councilman Rick Lee. He listened to my problem, promised to fix it, came out, looked at the messed up roads and spent the next six months getting money to repave the roads.
The job the county did was great. I never met him until last weekend when he was going door to door in neighborhood campaigning. His courtesy and patience were refreshing. He made a promise, and he followed through. I and my neighbors will vote for him for county council.
Watch out for God's vengeance
America has come to the crossroads. She is free to do as she wishes. This thing of constitutional rights has been run into the ground. Nothing is wrong anymore if you choose to do it. Many nations before us even way back in Bible times were destroyed and eradicated because of sin. And the majority of them were sexual sins. Our country is running rampart with sexuality, murders and you name it. Do we in the United States think we are exempt from judgement or do we think we are Gods gift to humanity?
Did you know that one of the latest fires in California that destroyed over 600,000 acres and I don't know how many homes was caused by a lightning bolt that came from the clouds and hit it an uncleaned area of brush and started the fire? Coincidence, I think not.
