Obama must be judged by friends
John McCain and Sarah Palin were the better candidates running for election. Unfortunately, they were not supported by ACORN.
As for Barack Obama, not everyone can be associated with a terrorist, a molester, a felon, a hate-filled preacher and who knows what else and not have to answer for it. Perhaps Mr. Obama will tell Bill Ayers when it is a good time to blow up the Pentagon or the White House.

Real issue is welfare of dogs
I am writing concerning the tethering issue in York. I have been reading a lot of articles as well as people's responses to them in the past week. While it is a shame that residents are so torn on the matter, it seems to me that a lot of people are not really educated in the proper and humane care of dogs. The whole point here is to assure that these animals are properly taken care of.
Some people choose to leave their animal chained up in the yard for whatever reason, but these dogs deserve to be treated better, and that is what this is all about. This includes being up to date on their shots, including a rabies vaccine, and given proper shelter, food and water. I hope that, as a town, people will come together and realize that this is not about them, it is about our best friends. I hope the council comes up with a proper plan that works for everyone involved. Especially for poor defenseless animals that have no choice but to put their life in our hands.
Government should pay off national debt
What are the benefits of the government paying off half the debt? If it reduced the interest payments by half a billion dollars a day, in a year it would equal $182.5 billion if I figured it right. In 10 years, it would equal $1.8 trillion.
It is sad that the government wastes $3.65 trillion in 10 years on interest payments. The least it can do is cut it in half! I have e-mailed Barack Obama at change.gov about this. I hope before his term is over we can get some results on this. I heard that he does want to get to the budget deficit down, but for now, it is on the back burner.
