Team Striper Addiction wins local tournament

Midland Striper Club's June Team Tournament held June 16 out of Jake's Landing on Lake Murray was won by "Team Striper Addiction" consisting of Captain David Sturgis from McConnells, David Dease from Edgemoor and Jimmy Young from Rock Hill with four striped bass weighing 40-11 pounds

The team also won the Sportsman's Warehouse team bonus prize.

Finishing in second place with 26-6 pounds was "Team Wildman" consisting of team captain Donnie Christopher, Justin Christopher and Skip Morgan, all from Rock Hill, along with club president Danny Young from Sumter.

In third place with 25-7 lbs. was "Team Baitkiller" consisting of team captain David Hurst and son David Hurst Jr. from Newberry.

The Nichol's Store of Rock Hill Big Fish, weighing 13-11 pounds, was landed by "Team Striper Addiction." The winner of the lowest legal creel weight prize for June was Louis Buckwell from Greenville with 5-6 lbs.

MSC's next tournament is their annual MSC-Hydro Glow DNR Benefit Open July 20-21, 2007 out of Jakes Landing. The all-night tournament is open to all who wish to compete for the $1500 first prize by paying the $110 entry fee. Entry forms, tournament rules and more information can be found on MSC's Web site at midlandsstriperclub.org. The event is co-sponsored by Hydro Glow Fish Lights of Dawsonville, Georgia.

MSC's next meeting is Tuesday, July 10th, 2007 at Carolina Wings Restaurant, 2347 Augusta Road, West Columbia. Meeting time is 7 p.m. Guests are always welcome.
