DANIEL ISLAND -- Northwestern High School's Ryan Kropp was named South Carolina's MVP in the North Carolina/South Carolina All-Star Soccer Game last week.
The game ended in a 2-2 tie, with Kropp scoring both goals for South Carolina. Kropp, an all-state player, has signed a scholarship with USC Upstate.
South Carolina got things started in the 15th minute when Kropp connected on the first of his two scores. Kropp took a pass from Daniel's Seth Kulasekera at the top of the penalty area, turned and fired a shot into the lower right corner of the net.
North Carolina added a pair of second-half goals and opened a 2-1 lead. With 1:35 left, Kropp connected on a kick from six yards out and the game ended in a tie.
