The state basketball playoffs begin Monday and 14 Herald-area teams qualified by finishing in the top four of their region standings.
Fort Mill's boys, the defending Class AAAA champions, won the Region 3-AAAA title for the second straight year, but suffered their first loss of the season Friday night 70-63 against South Pointe.
The Yellow Jackets, 23-1 and coached by Bailey Jackson, went into the game ranked No. 1 in the state. Fort Mill began the season at No. 2 behind Spartanburg. The Vikings had to scramble to make the playoffs in their final game and will be at Fort Mill.
The Class AAAA boys start Wednesday. Also from Region 3-AAAA, South Pointe was second and hosts Dorman, Northwestern was third and travels to Byrnes, and York got the final berth and is on the road against Hillcrest.

Indian Land's girls were the state runners-up last year in Class A. They finished third in their region this season and have a first-round road game at Calhoun County on Tuesday.
Great Falls' girls won the Region 3-A championship and host Wagener-Salley on Tuesday.
The Class AAAA girls begin play Tuesday, led by South Pointe at home against Mauldin. The Lady Stallions won the Region 3-AAAA title, the school's first since it opened three years ago, and finished 23-2.
Also on Tuesday, York hosts Byrnes, Northwestern is at Dorman and Lancaster travels to Spartanburg.
The Class A boys start Wednesday and Great Falls had to beat North Central in a special playoff game on Friday to break the tie for first place in Region 3-A.
The Red Devils host Ridge Spring-Monetta, and Lewisville is on the road at Hunter-Kinard-Tyler.
Chester's boys won the Region 3-AAA championship and are home against Seneca on Tuesday in the Class AAA playoffs. Chester's girls go to Travelers Rest on Monday.
Games are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., but can be played earlier if both schools agree.
