The Winthrop women's golf team opened its 2015 spring season with a 15th place finish at the JU Amelia Island Collegiate, hosted by Jacksonville University on Monday and Tuesday at the Amelia National Golf Club.
The scheduled 54-hole event was shortened to 36 holes after rain forced officials to cancel the final round after play had started on Tuesday morning.

FIU's Meghan MacLaren captured medalist honors with a blistering 11-under par 133 (64-69).
