In real life, Winthrop’s foursome of Tyson Waterman, Torrell Martin, Tyrone Walker and Craig Bradshaw had combined career records of 25-7 against the Highlanders, with a 3-0 record in Big South tournament play.
Radford’s group of four -- Doug Day, Art Parakhouski, Javonte Green and Anthony Walker -- never played any of the four Eagles that were picked by The Herald’s readers.
It’s fun to imagine the Highlanders’ Javonte Green, a 6-foot-4 power forward trapped in a wing’s frame, clashing with Winthrop’s Martin or Walker, similarly-sized players that could do everything. And the Eagles would have to hope Bradshaw could drain some 3’s to pull Parakhouski away from the rim. But we’re just imagining, right?
Just like the previous couple rounds, fan voting determines which team is the last one standing. Voting remains open until 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, when the (imaginary) champ will be crowned.
