All former Northwestern High School girls’ soccer players are invited to compete against current players in the 2015 Lady Trojan Alumni Soccer Scrimmage set for 5 p.m., on Friday, April 17, at the practice field behind the school.
The Lady Trojan soccer family is celebrating 20 years of competition. The successful program began on March 16, 1995 with a 4-0 road win over Richland Northeast in Columbia. The team had a 6-3 record that first year.
The Lady Trojans are connecting to their rich history as they begin their third decade of exciting soccer. The team has made the state playoffs 10 years in a row, and has won its region five times since 1999.
The 20-minute “just-for-fun” Alumni Soccer Scrimmage will be held in conjunction with the team’s annual intersquad Handball Tournament fundraiser. That handball tournament begins at 4 p.m., on April 17, and parents and fans are invited to watch the competition and make donations to the program.
