Chester ran into a one-man wrecking crew in the form of Centurions running back Desmond Anderson Friday night at Broome High School.
The state’s leading rusher finished with 20 carries for 349 yards and seven touchdowns as the Centurions beat Chester 58-44.
Anderson finished with six rushing touchdowns and a 54-yard punt return for a score as Broome jumped out to a 58-22 lead.
The Cyclones scored three fourth-quarter touchdowns to close the gap to 58-44 with three minutes remaining, but Broome recovered an onside kick late in the game and was able to run out the clock.

Chester quarterback Tommy Sanders led the way for the Cyclones, finishing with three rushing touchdowns and a 31-yard touchdown pass to Quaterrious Thompson.
Javarious Gregory added a touchdown run, while Earl Hinton returned a fumble 50 yards for a score.
Indian Land 20, North Central 6: The Indian Land Warriors took a 10-0 lead after one quarter and defeated the North Central Knights in a Region 4-2A game at Indian Land.
The Warriors scored first on a field goal, and after a North Central fumble later in the quarter, they made it 10-0 in the last seconds of the opening period.
Indian Land added another field goal before halftime to make it 13-0. The Warriors took the second-half kickoff and drove for a touchdown to make it 20-0.
North Central got its only score late in the third quarter.
The win improved Indian Land to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the region. The loss dropped North Central to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the region. From staff reports
