Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey goes shirtless for GQ shoot. A teammate rubs it in

Carolina Panthers star Christian McCaffrey may be the best running back in the NFL with almost 300,000 Twitter followers, but that doesn’t make him immune from verbal hazing from his teammates.

McCaffrey did a photoshoot for the popular GQ Magazine where he appears topless, wearing only underwear in one of the shots. The photoshoot accompanies an article titled “Fantasy Pick,” in which McCaffrey interviewed with GQ writer Drew Magary via a Zoom call. (Melodie McDaniel took the photos.)

At least one of his teammates, new offensive tackle Russell Okung, gave McCaffrey a fun-natured ribbing on Twitter when the photos were released Thursday.

The article says, at 24, McCaffrey — now the linchpin to the Panthers franchise — is the No. 1 pick in anybody’s fantasy draft.

Besides finding out that he got sick eating bad fish on a Caribbean trip with girlfriend Olivia Culpo, who was Miss Universe in 2012, McCaffrey reveals how he spent the coronavirus quarantine.

Surprise. He was working out with his younger brothers and Panthers QB Teddy Bridgewater.

“I started getting to the point where I loved quarantine,” McCaffrey told GQ. “Part of me has been trying to social distance myself for a long time now.”

McCaffrey also reveals the 10 things he cannot live without. Among them? An iPad (in a ridiculously thick case) and an infared sauna (“Something I use on the daily,” he said. “I can unwind. It’s got speakers in there. It’s the best thing for me for recovery.”)
