Chester man dies after head-on crash with truck in Lancaster Co.
A 24-year-old Chester man died Monday night after a head-on crash with a tractor trailer in Lancaster County.
State troopers were called to the scene along S.C. 341, just south of Kershaw, at about 9:37 a.m. to investigate the fatal collision.
Timothy R. Vinson was driving a 2004 Dodge Neon when he crossed over the center line and hit a Mack truck, according to troopers.
The truck, driven by a 52-year-old man from Columbia, hit a tree. The driver was injured.
Vinson was not wearing a seat belt.
The cause of death, according to Lancaster chief deputy coroner Karla Knight Deese was multiple blunt force trauma.
