Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson to hold book-signing in Rock Hill
Saturday will give local voters a chance to meet a presidential hopeful and come away with some new reading material at the same time.
Ben Carson will be holding a book-signing on Saturday in Rock Hill, part of a series of book signings scheduled for Saturday around the state. He will be signing copies of his book, “A More Perfect Union,” at the Manchester Village Books-A-Million, 540 John Ross Parkway, from noon to 3 p.m.
The pediatric neurosurgeon has been rising in the polls recently, ranking a close second to Donald Trump in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
Carson has two other stops planned for South Carolina that day, starting with a book-signing in Columbia on Saturday morning and finishing the day with a stop in Greenville.
Charles Parker, a member of Carson’s 2016 Committee for York County, said he had been contacted by the Carson campaign about Saturday’s event, where organizers hope to have volunteers handing out copies of another book on Carson’s policy positions, “RX for America.”
“I’ll probably be out there handing out books with everybody else,” Parker said.
But Parker hasn’t got the new book yet, and will wait to see how long the line is before he decides to try to buy one and get it signed.
“I’ll have to get one later,” Parker said, adding “I already know just about everything about Dr. Carson now anyway.”
