Tickets to Winthrop Democratic presidential forum up for grabs in ‘Snapchat Challenge’

Five people willing to do a little social media puzzle-solving Friday at Winthrop University can win tickets to the “First in the South” Democratic presidential forum, moderated by MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow.

The network announced this week it will give away a total of 10 tickets – 2 for each winner – in a “Snapchat Challenge.” The contest will start at 10 a.m. Friday with clues sent out via MSNBC’s Snapchat account.

The clues will take participants to different locations around the Winthrop campus. Snapchat users can then save “snaps” or photos solving the clue and post it on a “Snap story” with their smartphone or mobile device.

MSNBC will send a final “snap” at 3 p.m. Friday from SHIFTMSNBC on Snapchat. That final step will announce the final location of the last clue.

Once complete – no later than 4 p.m. – participants will meet with “Snapchat Challenge” staff at Byrnes Auditorium. The first five participants at Byrnes with all the clues and photos complete will be rewarded.

Each winner will receive two tickets for entry to the 8 p.m. forum at Byrnes Auditorium.

For complete rules and information, go to msnbc.com/demforumsnapchat. Participants must be 16 or older.

Maddow will interview Democratic presidential hopefuls Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley on stage during the forum. MSNBC will air a special edition of “Hardball with Chris Matthews” live on the campus front lawn at 6 p.m. Friday.

Following the forum, Matthews and Maddow will deliver analysis from 10 to 11 p.m.
