Turkey trot! York County Gobble Wobble run/walk for charity is Saturday
The 5th Annual Gobble Wobble run and walk for the fit and the fat is Saturday through the streets of Rock Hill.
The event is coordinated by the Junior Welfare League, a non-profit women’s group that raises money for community service projects. This year all proceeds go to Palmetto Pregnancy Center, Children’s Attention Home and RideAbility.
The goal is to raise $50,000 this year to help these agencies that assist some of the most vulnerable in York County.
The event has something for everyone, said Chazzie Sheldon of the Junior Welfare League, with a 5K run/walk for those who are not as fit and an 8K run.
Almost 350 people have already signed up to race, but there is room for more.
Registration is $35 through Thursday and $40 on Saturday morning - race day. The races begin at 8 a.m.
Online registration can be done at the race’s Web site: gobblewobble8k.racesonline.com/home, or before the race Saturday morning.
