Official: 12-year-old airlifted with ‘serious’ burns after Rock Hill vehicle fire
A 12-year-old girl was airlifted after a vehicle fire that damaged a Rock Hill home Monday, according to fire officials.
Firefighters got the call just after 2 p.m. at a home on the 500 block of Old High Court, according to Deputy Chief Mark Simmons of the Rock Hill Fire Department. They extinguished the blaze, which caused damage to the home.
A 12-year-old girl was airlifted to the burn unit at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina with “serious” burn injuries, Simmons said. Her condition was not available late Monday.
The vehicle that caught fire, a Jeep, was a total loss, Simmons said. Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the fire.
