Curtin Farms to host festival
Curtin Farms will be host Curtin Farms Fest, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24 at the farm, 407 N. Paraham Road, Clover. The event features local artisans, food and live music.
Visitors can stroll the grounds of the 100-year-old farm to see peacocks, alpacas and other farm animals as well as view antique and modern day farm equipment.
Hayrides, sawmill and alpaca fiber processing demonstrations will be offered. Admission is $5 for adults and free to children 1 and younger. Rain or shine. Free parking. Go to curtinfarms.com for information.
Cancer benefit planned for local youth
A tailgating benefit for 13-year-old cancer patient Trevor Aureliano of York will be 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8 at Endzone Sports Bar, 2354 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill.
Trevor has been diagnosed with stage 3B Hodgkins lymphoma.

Second Harvest to host hunger relief in Sharon
Second Harvest Partners, sponsored by Providence Presbytery, will host a hunger relief site 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23 at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church, 3852 Woodlawn St., Sharon.
Volunteers will help distribute food to participants who meet USDA eligibility income guidelines. For information, call Catawba Area Agency on Aging at 803-329-9670.
Clover art gallery to host exhibit
Gallery 120 in Clover will host an art exhibition by members of the Catawba River Art Guild Nov. 2-30. A public reception will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at the gallery, 120 Bethel St.
Gallery hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays.
Register for Oct. 24 Mummy Shuffle
Registration is underway for the fourth annual Clover Rotary Club Mummy Shuffle 5K fun run and walk Oct. 24. Entry fee is $15 in advance and $20 on the day.
Registration and check-in will begin at 8 a.m. at First Baptist Church COAC, 111 S. Main St.
The race starts at 8:30 a.m. Awards will be given for race winners and best costumes.

The town of Clover is accepting submissions for Gallery 120, 120 Bethel St.
Artists should email an artist bio and three hi-res images of work to gallery120@cloversc.org, and include Monthly Artist Feature Submission in subject line.
Gallery 120’s Advisory Board Members for 2015-16 are Shanna Stanton, chairwoman; Alexandria Baker, vice-chairwoman; Jackie Clarkin, secretary; Debbie Sherwood, curator; LuAnne Lovelace, Barbara Denny, Andrea Meglii and Chris Williams.

Items needed are canned fruits, boxed cereal and toilet paper.

Therapeutic center seeks volunteers
RideAbility Therapeutic Riding Center in Clover welcomes new volunteers.
No experience necessary; training is provided.
The center helps families of children and adults with special needs build and improve strength, balance, core stability, focus and attention and increase confidence and self-esteem with facilitative interaction with horses and riding. RideAbility also serves veterans with its Equine Services of Heroes Program.
Those interested in the 2015 fall program for children and adults with special needs, the Equine Services for Heroes or the riding program can email rideabilitysc@gmail.com. Space is limited.
Sponsors, including individuals, churches or clubs, are also needed to provide financial support for children and adult riders and veterans.
Animal shelter needs volunteers
The nonprofit Friends of the York County Animal Shelter needs volunteers to help bathe, groom, exercise, socialize, train and provide adoption information for the animals, as well as assist in follow-ups, publicity, marketing and fulfilling other jobs at the shelter.
