New charges filed against York Co. inmate after victim reports shooting

Two months before he allegedly robbed a man at knife-point, police say Bobby Albert Camp fired shots at a Rock Hill man outside his house, hoping to kill him as part of a feud, according to arrest warrants.

Police on Tuesday charged Camp, 24, with attempted murder, unlawfully carrying a pistol and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, the warrants state. By Thursday, he was held at the York County Detention Center on a more than $750,000 bond. He faces 22 total charges, many of which stem from several incident and include armed robbery, assault with a concealed weapon, drug possession and failure to appear.

Camp was initially jailed in March after police say he robbed a man of $50 outside the Pizza Hut on North Anderson Road at knife-point. Camp’s girlfriend denied the allegations, saying Camp was never involved in a robbery and that he had gone to meet the victim to buy a bag of marijuana from him.

In January, Camp allegedly fired a handgun at a man on Morris Street, near Northside Recreation Center, in Rock Hill, warrants say. Camp fired the shots because of a previous feud, police said. More details about the incident were unavailable, but police say the victim did not report the attempt on his life until Camp had been arrested in March on the robbery allegations.
