Police: York man used store’s WiFi to watch child porn in parking lot
A York man used a home improvement store’s WiFi connection to watch child pornography in the store’s parking lot, according to a York Police report.
Leroy Moore Jr., 73, is charged with third degree sexual exploitation of a minor, which carries a prison sentence of up to 10 years upon conviction. He is at the York County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
Moore was sitting in a white Buick parked at the Lowe’s parking lot on East Liberty Street on Dec. 1, the report states, when another man told police that Moore was “looking at child porn using Lowe’s WiFi connection.”
When officers approached the car, which was in a handicapped parking space, they could see Moore’s laptop screen through a partially open door.
When police asked Moore what he was doing, the report states, he told them, “Looking at some porn on the Internet.”
Moore had two laptops in his possession, according to the report, and officers saw images of what appeared to be young boys.
Moore was released at that point, but police confiscated the laptops, the report states. He does not have a criminal history in South Carolina, according to the State Law Enforcement Division.
