Lancaster Co. deputies search for man wanted in woman’s shooting death
Deputies are on the hunt for a man they accuse of staging a Lancaster County woman’s death to look like a suicide.
Keishawn Omar McManus, 22, of 180 Clyburn Drive, Lancaster, has been charged with murder after investigators determined the death of 19-year-old Quatavia Robinson was a homicide, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the Clyburn Drive home two days before Christmas for a reported suicide. Around 4 p.m. on Dec. 23, McManus told investigators he came home and found Robinson in the bedroom dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Investigators combed the scene and an autopsy was performed on Robinson to determine the cause of death. Deputies determined McManus shot and killed Robinson during a domestic dispute and then reported her death as a suicide. The Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday declined to say how it had reached that conclusion.
McManus is now wanted by law enforcement, and the Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to find him.
“Our deepest condolences go out to the family of Ms. Robinson. We are committed to doing everything possible to see that McManus is brought to justice,” Sheriff Barry Faile said in a prepared statement.
This isn’t the first time McManus has faced charges related to a homicide.
In July 2012, McManus was charged with murder along with Stanley Melvin Reed in the shooting death of Timothy Wissinger. Investigators alleged Wissinger was shot in an apparent dispute over drugs while he was driving in a truck on Lamplight Road, which caused the vehicle to crash into a tree. The suspected murder weapon was later found in McManus’ home.
McManus and Reed also faced cocaine possession charges after their arrest in that incident. McManus was later released on a $50,000 bond. Reed is still being held at the Lancaster County Detention Center.
In September 2013, after McManus’ arrest in the Wissinger death, he was arrested again in Lancaster County on a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery, according to SLED records.
