A teen shot late Friday night in Lancaster remains in critical condition at a Charlotte hospital, police said.
The identity of the 17-year-old victim has not been released.
Police were called around 10:15 p.m. Friday after shots were heard east of downtown near Hughes and Gay streets, Lancaster Police Department Chief Scott Grant said.
Minutes later, police were notified of a gunshot victim at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.
The victim had been taken by private vehicle to the hospital after police determined the shooting incident happened in the 400 block of East Arch Street in Lancaster, Grant said.
The victim was then airlifted to a Charlotte hospital.
No arrests have been made.
