Dead kitten was found mutilated at Rock Hill apartments, police say

A stray kitten was found dead and mutilated at Stonehaven Apartments Wednesday afternoon, police say.

An employee at the apartments on Stoneypoint Drive found the dead kitten and called police at about 3:15 p.m., according to a Rock Hill police report.

The employee told police the kitten is a stray that usually hangs around near the apartments, the report says.

The cat’s head, back legs and tail were cut off, the report says. The body of the kitten was left under the back stairs of the apartment breezeway, the report says.

Officers didn’t find the body parts or any blood near the cat’s body, the report says.

There were no witnesses or cameras at the scene, the report says.
