The inmate who escaped from a Rock Hill correctional facility in January has been captured, according to the S.C. Department of Corrections.

Zachery Lee Reaves, 26, was arrested late Wednesday night by the East Point Police Department in East Point, Ga., according to Stephanie Givens, a spokeswoman for the the Department of Corrections. He will be extradited back to South Carolina, where he faces multiple charges including escape and “other charges for illegal activity during his escape.”

Reaves escaped from the Catawba Pre-release Center on Milling Road in Rock Hill the night of Jan. 25, authorities have said.

Sometime late that night or early the next morning, Reaves is believed to have broken into the Academy Christian School on Border Road, from which he allegedly took a handgun and ammo.

Reaves was serving an eight-year prison sentence for a burglary conviction in Horry County, authorities have said.
