46 car break-ins reported in Fort Mill neighborhood
The York County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a rash of overnight car break-ins in a Fort Mill neighborhood.
Authorities said 46 cars at 37 houses in Regent Park were either broken into and had something stolen or the car was just rummaged through overnight and into Tuesday morning. A complete list of stolen items was not immediately available.
It appears the majority of the cars were unlocked, said Trent Faris, sheriff’s office spokesman.
This is a reminder to “lock your car doors when you get home in the evening. Also please take your valuable items, laptops, GPS, phones, wallets, purses, loose cash & change etc... in your home with you at night,” Faris said.
If you saw suspicious activity in this area, call 803-628-3059 or Crime Stoppers of York County at 1-877-409-4321.
