Police on Monday charged a York man with murder in the May 7 shooting death of a man at a Rock Hill apartment complex.

Marquise Anton Cole, 23, of York, was charged with murder, possession of a firearm during a violent crime and possession of a stolen pistol, said Capt. Brent Allmon, a spokesman for the Rock Hill Police Department.

He was placed in the Rock Hill city jail, where he is expected at a bond hearing Thursday morning.

Cole is charged in connection with the death of Jason Adon, 21, who was found shot to death in the front yard of one of the apartment units at Workman Street Apartments on May 7. He was arrested about 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Few details about a possible motive for the killing have been released. Detectives are still working the case, Allmon said, but investigators are not searching for any additional suspects.
