Police: Rock Hill shooting suspect fired at bondsman

Rock Hill police are searching for a man who allegedly shot at a bail bondsman during a warrant service Wednesday.

Breon Hunt, 21, is wanted for attempted murder, police said Thursday.

Hunt is accused of shooting at one of three bail bondsmen who were serving a warrant Wednesday morning, according to an incident report. The victim told officers Hunt was not at the home when the bondsmen arrived and had gone out the back of the home.

It wasn’t clear if the bondsmen were serving a warrant on Hunt, or someone else at the home.

The victim said he spotted Hunt and began chasing him, police said, and Hunt fired a single gunshot at him. He lost sight of Hunt for a short period of time until they ran into each other while rounding a fence corner, at which point Hunt allegedly pulled a handgun from his pocket and pointed at the victim’s face.

The victim swatted the gun away and told Hunt not to shoot “as he lowered his head and squatted down,” the report states. Hunt then fled on foot into the woods.

Anyone with information on Hunt’s whereabouts is asked to call the Rock Hill Police Department at 803-329-7293 or 803-329-7074.
