Rock Hill school bus catches fire in storage lot

A Rock Hill School bus burned in the school system’s storage area Thursday evening. School officials believe the fire was electrical.

No one was injured in the fire.

The 78-passenger bus completed its route by 4:30 p.m. and maintenance personnel discovered the blaze at 6:30 p.m., said schools spokesperson Elaine Baker.

The Rock Hill Fire Department responded to extinguish the fire.

The bus has been removed to the state maintenance facility in Chester, Baker said.
