Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said Thursday afternoon the EgyptAir crash was likely caused by terrorism.

“It does appear that it was an act of terrorism,” Clinton said on CNN. “Exactly how, of course, the investigation will have to determine. But it once again shines a very bright light on the threats that we face from organized terror groups.”

Authorities believe wreckage from the flight, which was carrying 66 people from Paris to Cairo, has been found in the southern Aegean Sea. They have not yet determined what caused the plane to swerve abruptly before crashing into the water early Thursday morning.

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump also said Thursday the incident was likely an act of terror. “When will we get tough, smart and vigiliant?” Trump tweeted.
