Well, it was a fun fantasy while it lasted.

A Facebook page posted pictures Wednesday of skeletal remains it claimed were found on the shores of Loch Ness in Scotland by a dog walker.

“Has Nessy been found?” the page, Help2Rehome Scotland, asked in the post. “Or someone playing a fascinating prank?”

Turns out it was neither. The remains were laid out for an unspecified TV show, according to the page.

“It’s for a TV show, good lay out!” Help2Rehome clarified later that day. “Shame some people had to be very nasty about it on this post though.”

The name of the TV show is unclear, but it was also identified as a documentary by the page.

The revelation is disappointing to some people.

Others were unconvinced from the beginning, pointing out that the organs of the monster would not remain in the skeletal frame, and that they resembled white pudding.
