Former President Bill Clinton will speak at 11:45 a.m. Thursday at Freedom Temple, 215 E. Main St., downtown Rock Hill.

Doors will open at 11 a.m.

York County Democratic Party chairwoman Amy Hayes confirmed the venue. Anyone hoping to attend the event can sign up for free on the Clinton campaign website.

The East Main Street church in downtown Rock Hill is a last-minute addition to the former president’s schedule, two days before voters will choose between his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders in the South Carolina Democratic primary.

Hillary Clinton has led Sanders in most South Carolina polls for months, even after a narrow victory over the self-declared “democratic socialist” in Iowa earlier this month and going down in defeat to the insurgent candidate in New Hampshire. Last weekend, her campaign got a boost by winning the Nevada caucuses.

Polls will be open on Saturday for primary voters between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. All registered voters who did not vote in last week’s GOP primary are eligible to cast a ballot.
