In June, North Carolina lawmakers passed a bill that permanently removed hemp, the crop used to produce popular CBD health products, from the state’s list of controlled substances, The News & Observer reported.
By definition, hemp must have a THC concentration of less than 0.3%.

As long as they have a THC concentration of less than 0.3%, all forms of CBD products are legal in North Carolina.
CBD can be consumed by vaping or smoking the substance, or through cannabidiol-infused products like oils, tinctures, edibles, ointments and lotions, according to Forbes Health.

You must be at least 18 years old to purchase CBD products in North Carolina, according to Pure Craft CBD, an online shop that sells in CBD products.
What is CBD used for?
Although the health benefits of CBD have long been debated, at least 1 in 10 Americans use the substance to treat pain, anxiety, stress, headaches and inflammation, according to the most recent Gallup poll.
Studies suggest that CBD can also help treat insomnia symptoms, and lower cravings for highly-addictive substances like tobacco and heroin, according to Harvard Medical School.
Where is CBD sold in Charlotte?
Some shops in Charlotte, including Buddha’s Bazaar, Crowntown Cannabis and GreenLife Remedies, carry hemp flower, and CBD-infused edibles like gummies, seltzers, smoothies and popcorn.
