‘A Southern Girl’s Got to Have It’ has Rock Hill premiere

Brett Reed plays the Weather Channel-obsessed husband whose wife, played by Melissa Bowden, is having a nervous breakdown in “There Will Be Fruitcake,” one of six one-act plays in “A Southern Girl’s Got to Have It,” written by Elaine Alexander.

The show, which premiered Thursday, continues at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the Rock Hill Community Theater, 546 S. Cherry Road. It features zany one-act comedies with Southern themes and is directed by Gaye Haid and Alexander.

The other comedies are “Orange Cat Fever,” “Let’s Mullet Over,” “Hard Copy,” “Die Zombie Extra Die,” and a monologue, “Done with Duane.” Suitable for mature audiences only.

Tickets are $15, adults; $12 seniors ($2 discount for the matinee). Passes not valid.
