Earth Day Birthday
Earth Day Birthday celebration will be 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the Museum of York County, 4621 Mount Gallant Road, Rock Hill. Free family event featuring activities, games, live entertainment and educational exhibits with hands-on environmental messages. Dr. T – the Trashologist – will perform live educational shows featuring comedy, magic and environmental lessons. Food will be for sale from the Museum of York County Guild, or bring a picnic. Home tour, plant sale
The Master Gardeners of York County will hold two annual events during Rock Hill’s annual Come-See-Me festival – the plant sale and home tour.
The annual plant sale will be 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the Glencairn Garden Learning Center, 825 Edgemont Ave., Rock Hill.
The 2015 MGYC Garden Tour, featuring five homes in the Shiland Hills neighborhood, will be from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, with a rain date Sunday, from 1-4 p.m. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at any of the tour gardens or at the plant sale.
Evening of jazz
The York-Chester Alumni Chapter of the South Carolina State University National Alumni Association presents “An Evening of Jazz” featuring the S.C. State University Jazz Ensemble, 6 p.m. Saturday at Dutchman Creek Middle School, Rock Hill. Tickets, $25 adults, $10 students. Spring concert
Carolinas Wind Orchestra spring concert will be 7:30 p.m. Monday at Byrnes Auditorium, Winthrop University, Rock Hill. The program includes Mozart’s “Gran Partita,” Persichetti’s “Symphony No. 6 for Band,” Sousa’s “Picadore March,” Marquez’s “Danzon No. 2,” Herold’s “Zampa Overture,” Hogg’s “In Stillness” and Follas’ “Mary Mare March.” The orchestra is led by Dr. William Malambri and Dr. Stanley Michalski.
