Movie in the park

New Centre Park in Clover will host free Summer Movies in the Park at dusk Friday featuring Megamind. Bring blankets and low-back chairs. Concessions available for sale. No pets, tobacco, coolers, alcoholic beverages or outside food allowed. For information, call 803-222-9493.

Community theater

▪ Fort Mill Community Playhouse presents the Summer Youth Production, “Miss Nelson is Missing,” 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Aug. 7, and 8 and 3 p.m. Sunday and Aug. 9 at the playhouse, 615 Banks St. The play is based on the book by Harry Allard and James Marshall and adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher.

Miss Nelson can’t control her crazy classroom because she’s just too nice. But when she disappears, her replacement is the hard-as-nails, detention-loving, recess-canceling, homework-overloading, substitute teacher Viola Swamp! The kids soon realize how much they miss Miss Nelson and are determined to find her and bring her back.

Concert

Summer Concert Series welcomes Chase Likens at 6 p.m. Friday at the Anne Springs Close Greenway Dairy Barn, 250 Dairy Barn Lane, Fort Mill. Bring a blanket or chair and a picnic dinner. Food, beer, wine and sodas will be available for purchase. Well-behaved dogs on 6-foot leashes welcome. Free for greenway members, $5 for nonmembers.

Bluegrass

Allison Creek Bluegrass will resume its shows featuring Bluegrass Travelers at 7 p.m. Thursday at Allison Creek Presbyterian Church, York. Doors open at 6 p.m. Concessions open at 6:30 p.m. For information, go to allisoncreekbluegrass.com.

Concert in the park

The final Summer in the Park concert will feature Sinners and Saints Aug. 11 at Fewell Park in Rock Hill. The concert is free and begins at 6:30 p.m. Bring a picnic and blanket or lawn chair.

Zombie crawl

Registration is open for the Old Town Zombie Crawl 5K and fun run Oct. 24 in downtown Rock Hill. Grand marshals are Mike Mundy and Kent Wagner of “The Walking Dead.” For information and registration, go to oldtownzombiecrawl.com. Proceeds go to Heart to Heart Foundation.

Dazzle & Denim

The 12th annual Dazzle & Denim fundraiser will be 7-11 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Magnolia Room at Laurel Creek. The event is celebrating Catawba Care’s transition to Affinity Health Center.
