PewDiePie Is Ending His Japan Vlogs In September To Protect His Son's Privacy

Felix Kjellberg, better known as PewDiePie, announced on Saturday that he and his wife Marzia are ending their Japan vlog series in September 2026. The reason is their son. Björn is now 3 years old, and his parents have decided to discontinue documenting family life publicly for his privacy.

The Reason Why PewDiePie Is Stopping His Japan Vlogs

"Now he's 3 years old, and we feel like it's a good time to end the vlogs," Felix explains in his announcement video. "If he wants to be part of it, that should be his choice later." Marzia elaborated on the specific concern: "We just feel like the vlogs put too much pressure on his appearance online." While the vlogs started to document the family's move to Japan, this discontinuity doesn't mean that the family isn't moving. They're staying in Japan. It's only the vlogs that are ending.

What made the announcement harder to deliver, Felix said, was the audience response. "The outpouring of love and support made us really, really want to continue doing the vlogs." He said that the vlogs were initially started to document their move to Japan, and the positive reception from their fans compelled them to continue the vlogs. The decision to stop ultimately came down to what was right for Björn.

What Continues After September

Felix has not announced any plans to stop creating content generally. The decision is specific to the vlog format and to Björn's involvement. Whether the channel shifts back toward gaming, continues with different Japan content, or evolves in some other direction wasn't addressed in the video, but those who still want to keep up with the Kjellbergs can subscribe to their newsletter.
