Historic Brattonsville will host its Christmas Candlelight Tours 3-9 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 12 at the site on Brattonsville Road.

Interpreters dressed in period clothing guide visitors on candlelit tours of the antebellum estate and portray how the early settlers, plantation owners and enslaved African-Americans celebrated the midwinter holidays.

The tours feature family friendly hands-on activities with live music around a campfire. The gift shop features period-style holiday items and locally made artwork and goods. Warm beverages, seasonal foods, and baked goods will be provided by the Friends of Brattonsville and available for purchase.

On the tour dates Brattonsville will be closed until 3 p.m. and the road will be closed from 2:30-9 p.m. Follow the detour signs. Admission: adults, $10; seniors, $8; ages 4-17, $5; age 3 and younger and Culture and Heritage Museum members, free. For information, go to www.chmuseums.org
