Christmas in Olde Sharon
The western York County town of Sharon will host its annual holiday celebration, Christmas in Olde Sharon, from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. It will include luminarias, lights, decorations, music, tours and food. A soup supper will be served at the Sharon Volunteer Fire Department. Meals and other refreshments also will be available at local restaurants and shops. Santa will arrive by fire truck at the fire department at 7 p.m. Photos with Santa available. Breakfast with Santa
The Fort Mill High School dance team will host Breakfast with Santa, 8:30-10 a.m. or 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Saturday at the high school. Tickets: $8, adults; $5, children. To reserve tickets, email fmdtbreakfastwithsanta@yahoo.com.
York Parks and Recreation will host Breakfast with Santa, 8-10 a.m. Saturday at the York Recreation Center. Breakfast includes all you can eat pancakes and bacon. Tickets are $5 at the door. For information, call 803-684-3742.
Candlelight tour
Historic Brattonsville will host its Christmas Candlelight Tours 3-9 p.m. Saturday at the site on Brattonsville Road. Interpreters dressed in period clothing guide visitors on candlelit tours of the antebellum estate. The tours feature family friendly hands-on activities with live music around a campfire. Warm beverages, seasonal foods, and baked goods, provided by the Friends of Brattonsville, will be available for purchase. Brattonsville will be closed until 3 p.m. and the road will be closed from 2:30-9 p.m. Follow the detour signs. Admission: adults, $10; seniors, $8; ages 4-17, $5; age 3 and younger and Culture and Heritage Museum members, free. For information, go to www.chmuseums.org
Tuesday, Dec. 15
Seasonal music
With Strings Attached, a duo consisting of Elda Franklin on viola and Mary Ann Helton on piano, will present “Music for the Season” at noon Dec. 15 in the sanctuary of St. John’s United Methodist Church, Oakland Avenue, Rock Hill. Joining them will be guest artist, mezzo-soprano JL McDaniel-Milliken. Admission is free but donations of canned goods for local food pantries would be welcome.
Holiday parades
Saturday
Fort Lawn, 2 p.m. where U.S. 21 South starts, travels down Main Street and ends at Municipal Drive. Rain date is 3 p.m. Dec. 13.
Lake Wylie, 6:30 p.m. for the 27th annual “Lights on the Lake” Holiday Boat Parade beginning at Buster Boyd Access Area and T-Bones on the Lake.
Lancaster, 6 p.m.from Main Street at Springs Street through downtown to Williams Street.
Richburg, 11 a.m. at Old Richburg Road, travels up Main Street and ends near the fire station.
Van Wyck, noon near the post office and finishes at the community center with a meet-and-greet with Santa
Dec. 19
Lowrys, 1 p.m. at the Community Center, goes into Lowrys and ends at the Community Center. Entrants must have a farm theme, horse-drawn vehicle or tractor.

‘The Nutcracker’
The York County Ballet presents “The Nutcracker,” 8 p.m. Dec. 17-19 and 3 p.m. Dec. 18-19 at Johnson Hall Theater at Winthrop University, Rock Hill. Tickets are $15 and available at the Winthrop Bookstore and yorkcountyballet.org.
