Fort Mill Community Playhouse presents “The Honky Tonk Angels,” a musical revue, at its new location, 220 Main St. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, March 11-12 and 17-19 and 3 p.m. Sunday, March 13 and 20. Be Irish
“Be Irish for a Night,” the 22nd annual fundraiser for Pilgrims’ Inn, will be 6:30-9:30 p.m. March 12 at Saint Anne Parish Life Center, 1696 Bird St., Rock Hill. The event features a corned beef and cabbage dinner, homemade Irish cornbread, desserts, wine, beer, soft drinks, Irish dancers and music, and live and silent auctions. Concert
Singer-songwriter Marti Jones and recording artist and producer Don Dixon will perform 7:30 p.m. March 19 at the Community Performance Center, 249 E. Main St., Rock Hill. The concert is presented by the Arts Council of York County. This talented duo has been producing music together for nearly three decades, often with Jones behind the mic, and Dixon, a Lancaster native, at the soundboard. Their most recent collaboration, “Living Stereo,” is a collection of duets that has them both out in front, entertaining with their warm, soulful sound. Southern sound
The McCelvey Center’s Southern Sound Series presents Drew Holcomb, an emerging singer/songwriter from Memphis who leads the Nashville-based band The Neighbors, at 7:30 p.m. March 19 at McCelvey’s Lowry Family Theater, 212 E. Jefferson St., York. Holcomb’s music has been featured on numerous television shows and commercials. The band includes Nathan Dugger and Rich Brinsfield. On the farm
“Children’s Day on the Farm,” an annual family event at Historic Brattonsville celebrating farm life in the Carolina Piedmont during the 18th and 19th centuries, will be 10 a.m.-4 p.m March 26. A team of draft horses will be plowing in the fields to prepare for spring planting. Visitors will see newborn lambs and other furry friends. Hands-on activities include candle-dipping, blacksmithing and food preparations in the way of the early settlers. Children will enjoy toys and games of the era. Pony and wagon rides will be available for a small fee. Palmetto Blue, an award-winning bluegrass band, will perform. The Plated Palette will offer food for sale. Admission: $8 adults, $6 seniors, $4 ages 4-17, free ages 3 and younger and Culture & Heritage Museum members.
