Summer celebration

Clover High School Spring Fling and Beach Bash will be 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the school. The event features local vendors, live entertainment, carnival games, inflatables, cornhole and a canjam tournament. Food truck vendors include Spoon’s Barbecue, Vito’s Pizza, Two Chicks and a Truck, Smax Flatbread Grill and Pelican’s Snoballs. Free admission. Rain location will be in the gym. Car show

Master’s Car Club 14th annual car show will be at Burns Chevrolet Cadillac, 2515 Cherry Road, Rock Hill. Gates open at 9 a.m. with registration until noon; awards at 3 p.m. Live entertainment by Justin Pryor. Free hot dogs, drinks and door prizes. Registration is $20 the day of the show. Concert series

The Anne Springs Close Greenway summer concert series features J’Michael Peeples Trio at 6:30 p.m. in the Comporium Amphitheater. Gates open at 6 p.m. Bring blankets, chairs and picnics. The concerts are free for Greenway members and $5 for nonmembers. Event parking is $5 per car; seasonal parking passes are $30 for members and $45 for nonmembers. Community theater

Playwright Elaine Alexander’s comedy “Life as We Know It” will be performed 7:30 p.m. Thursday-June 11, June 16-18 and 2 p.m. June 12, 19 at Rock Hill Community Theatre, 546 S. Cherry Road, directly behind ROC. Tickets are $15, adults; $12, senior and students; $2 off matinees. Recommended for adults. Passes not valid. The show sold out in Cornelius and Fayetteville. Alexander’s comedy “A Southern Girl’s Got To Have It,” premiered last summer in Rock Hill.

Concerts

The McCelvey Center’s Lowry Family Theater will host two Grand Ole McCelvey concerts featuring local string ensemble Cottonwood and the Grammy-award winning Peasall Sisters. Specializing in traditional Carolina Piedmont bluegrass music, Cottonwood will perform 7-9 p.m. June 11. The five-piece string ensemble includes Dan Hinson on guitar, Don Jones on mandolin, Zach Lemhouse on fiddle, Mark Mears on banjo, and Tony Helms on bass. Tickets are $10. The Grammy and Country Music Association award-winning Peasall Sisters return to the Grand Ole McCelvey 7-9 p.m. July 8. The Peasall Sisters have performed at the Grand Ole Opry, Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall. Tickets are $15 online and at the door.
