Starr, Connick, Lightfoot playing next week
It was 51 years ago on Feb. 9, 1964, when we first discovered The Beatles on “The Ed Sullivan Show.” Now, ensconced forever as the most popular music/rock band ever, welcome the opportunity to enjoy a performance by Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band live Tuesday at The Peace Center in Greenville.
From the Fab Four to solo stints, Starr remains a beloved, popular music legend. His All Starr Band is not too shabby either, filled with high-ranking rock luminaries including Steve Lukather, vocals/guitar; Gregg Rolie, vocals/organ/keyboards; Todd Rundgren, vocals/guitar/bass/percussion/harmonica/keyboard; Richard Page, vocals/bass; Greg Bissonette, drums/percussion/backing vocals; and Warren Ham, vocals/saxophone/percussion/keyboards.
An All-Starr Band concert features Starr performing songs from his solo career as well as his Beatle years. Plus, members of the All Starr Band take turns performing hits from their careers as well. Look for the 18th studio release from Starr, “Postcards From Paradise,” in late March.
Before that, see dynamic performances with lots of humor and fun from Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band live Tuesday at The Peace Center, 101 W. Broad St., Greenville. For ticket info call 864-467-3000 or check peacecenter.org. More on the music at ringostarr.com.
