Fleetwood Mac is back and on tour in Charlotte
After almost half a century, with their most popular lineup restored by the return of Christine McVie, Fleetwood Mac is on tour, headed live Saturday to Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte.
One of the rock era’s most popular and commercially successful bands, Fleetwood Mac is back, ready to celebrate it all, starting with the 35th anniversary of the classic album “Rumours.”
Life as a band has been a bumpy ride for FM. So, forget all the lineup chaos and the soap opera drama and focus on the known realities of the sound, the music and the band members who include Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie.
Take Nicks, ethereal witchy woman singing, spinning – all scarves, flying hair and flowing costumes, weaving her otherworldly spell, flanked by Fleetwood fierce physical intensity, Buckingham mystical aura, the inventive artistry of John McVie and the balancing expertise of Christine McVie.
Spellbinding in a charmed, supernatural way, the force is strong with Fleetwood Mac, Saturday at Time Warner Cable Arena, 333 E. Trade St., Charlotte. For more concert details, call 704-688-9000 or visit timewarnercablearena. For more on the music, go to fleetwoodmac.com or find them on Facebook.

Balance the legendary side of rock by branching out into new frontiers via Hozier, live Thursday at The Fillmore in Charlotte. Not a band in the conventional sense, but rather Hozier is that one guy: Andrew Hozier-Byrne.
Originally from Ireland, Hozier taught himself to play guitar and piano on his path to become a soulful, bluesy one-man creative entity.
He mapped a direct route to the modern blues by covering all the ground that’s gone before: rhythm and blues, soul, jazz, rock, funk and more.
It is a simple, straightforward prime directive – find and unleash his own musical identity. Hozier’s first release is a four-track EP and the lead track, “Take Me to Church,” has already brought attention and accolades.
More is sure to follow from Hozier, along with George Ezra, live Thursday at The Fillmore, 1000 NC Music Factory Blvd., Charlotte. Call 704-549-5555 for show/ticket info. For more on the music, go to hozier.com.
