Not officially summer but it sure feels right for some outdoor fun with live music from the Glen Shelton Music live Friday for Food Truck Friday at Fountain Park in downtown Rock Hill.
Based in Madison Heights, Va., Shelton is an ICM New Artist of The Year nominee, as well as an ICGMA Male Horizon/Crossover Artist nominee. With a sound identified as ‘inspirational country,’ his career has included working with Nashville recording artists starting back in 1995.
He has performed with more than 40 national acts including Lonestar, Joe Nichols, among others. Shelton, who won the Colgate Country Showdown in 2002, has recorded three studio albums and his debut national radio release in 2004 charted on Top 40 Country. In 2009, two of his self-written tunes made the Top 10 on Christian Country Top 100.
Shelton is joined by Vaughan Thomas, lead guitar and Scott Cash, keyboards. Popular Nashville session musicians, Thomas and Cash are regular performers on Nashville television including “Music City Tonight” and “Nashville Now.” Together they toured with the Statler Brothers (CMA Hall Fame artists) from 1992 to 2002, plus Thomas has toured with David Allan Co while Cash toured with Patty Loveless.
Shelton’s forte is performing at large festivals and outdoor events from the mid-Atlantic to the Carolinas. On stage, Shelton and company are known for their high energy, entertaining performance filled with country hit favorites along with originals by Shelton.
