Right off, it’s a pretty sure bet that SuttleBand will be ready to rock Saturday at the Long Branch in Rock Hill. “We are super excited to play at the Long Branch,” band namesake Bryman Suttle said. “I’ve always wanted to play on that stage.”

Even though this venue is historically considered country music oriented, crossover styles do get plenty of attention. And that’s exactly the plan for Suttle and company, who view this event as a restart of sorts, let’s call it the 2.0 version of the band. “This show is going to be awesome, as it is really the re-launch of SuttleBand with new drummer, Dave Sarn.”

The band, with Bron Allen, vocals; Aaron Thomas, bass; and Title Wilkes, vocals/percussion, will have an addition for Saturday’s show. “We are really excited to have former Chronic trumpet/electronic horn player Craig Sorrells joining us,” Suttle said.

Musically, SuttleBand aims its sound in the general direction of all things rock, soul, groove or somewhere in between. As testament, a sampling of the song list reveals a variety of covers from the Beatles and Boz Scaggs to James Brown, Janes Addition, Jimi Hendrix, as well as Marshall Tucker, Rolling Stones and Bob Seger. Original tunes fill out the rest of their song list.

Plan for a rocking experience from SuttleBand Saturday along with guest support SmackLily at the Long Branch, 761 Riverview Road, Rock Hill. For show details, call 327-3338. For more on the music, check suttleband.com.

Elsewhere

Time flies when you’re rocking hard. Twenty years have come and gone since Tremont Music Hall first opened its doors in Charlotte. To commemorate this milestone, a calvalcade of artists and bands will converge Saturday in tribute, mixing reunions of known favorites with a collection of groups hailed as bright flashes of musical glory.

From the first, Tremont’s intent was to expand musical possibilities and expose the potent, the hard to pigeonhole, and even the disenfranchised bands, many blessed with artistic skills unknown in a world of mainstream or middle-of-the-road.

To that end, the lineup promises an experience befitting the venue – AntiSeen, Animal Bag, It Could Be Nothing and Kudzu Ganja, along with an array of other groups.

Rally round to rock Saturday and commemorate the anniversary live at Tremont Music Hall, 400 W. Tremont Ave., Charlotte. Details: 704-343-9494, go to tremontmusichall.com or find them on Facebook.
