Forces align Saturday for Poor Man’s Fame live at Amos’ Southend in Charlotte, with the musical momentum emanated directly from PMF.

“We always get excited when we play,” maintains lead vocalist and pianist Tricia Kimbrell. “There is just something about the passion within this band especially for the music we write. Nothing else matters when we’re on stage. You just jam your heart out and you want everyone to feel the same way.”

While Kimbrell fronts PMF, she is ably assisted in this mission by Kirt Kimbrell, guitar; Chad Cope, bass; Joey Garrett, drums; plus their newest member, Randall Hargrove, guitar/backing vocals.

“This will be our debut with Randall at Amos’,” she said. “We are fortunate to have acquired him to be our second guitarist and backing vocalist for the band, so we are bringing some of our first album tunes along with teasers from our upcoming second album for this show.”

Melodies overlaid with expressive lyrics, written for maximum impact drive PMF. All original, the band draws from multiple influences as well as their combined personal ambiance for inspiration.

While their milieu is alternative metal/hard rock, closer inspection reveals classic rock lurking with plenty of intentional emotional value embedded in the music. Their debut album has been well-received, picking up frequent airplay.

Now, a second release is slated for this summer and there’s plenty of excitement about the new album. Kimbrell is energized by their recent lineup addition. “You haven’t heard Poor Man’s Fame until now,” she says. “Kirt and Randall’s guitar-playing adds enough kick to the rock to make anyone want to throw their horns up and scream ‘Hell Yeah.’”
