Musical benefit for firefighter Saturday in Gastonia
When the going gets tough, there are those we know we can rely on for help, especially firefighters.
So, when a firefighter is in need, who you gonna call? Why, musicians, of course. That’s the case for friends of Robbie Bouldin, who have put together a live music event, the Benefit for Robbie Bouldin, Saturday at Route 7 Bar & Grill in nearby Gastonia, N.C.
Bouldin, who served with the Ranlo Fire Department in Gaston County for more than 20 years, was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy in August. Since then, his medical bills have skyrocketed.
To help with these bills, 10 acts (so far) will come to the rescue, enticing folks to come out, eat a little barbecue, take part in a raffle, participate in a silent auction and listen to a live music jam. Proceeds will help pay Bouldin’s medical bills.
According to Tim Lane, a participating musician and former firefighter, “This benefit is to help the most humble man I have ever met. Robbie would never put himself first, even being a volunteer, putting his own life to the side. He always made sure someone else had a chance. Now it’s time to return the favor to a ‘brother’ in need.”
The benefit kicks off at 11 a.m. and the bands begin at noon. It’s an all-day, all-night affair with a lineup that includes The Joe Davis Band; Gary Ramsey; Iron Horse, Generation Axe, Copper Line; Chuck Swain, Tim Lane, and many more. For the list of acts and their time slots check the Benefit for Robbie Bouldin event page on Facebook.
Answer the call to attend this live band and barbecue Benefit for Robbie Boudin, Saturday at Route 7 Bar and Grill, 2813 Lowell Road, Gastonia. For more info, call 704-879-9128and find the bar/grill on Facebook.
