DeCarlo, appearing live Saturday at SC Shore Club in Tega Cay, is an unusual multi-faceted musical entity possessing three, four or maybe more intriguing purposes.

First, DeCarlo is a power trio performing classic rock and featuring Tommy DeCarlo, lead vocals/keyboards; Tommy DeCarlo Jr., lead guitar/keyboards and Dan Hitz, drums. Second, this is a locally-based band who’ve been working their way into the hearts of area music lovers with regular shows across the Carolinas since 2012.

The DeCarlo song list is another big plus thanks to perennial hits and fan favorites from the 70s and 8’s bands including Styx, Bon Jovi, Foreigner, Loverboy, Boston, and others with music that’s guaranteed to get fans up on their feet, singing along and ‘lovin’ every minute of it.’

Another endearing aspect of DeCarlo is surely the father/son combination of lead vocalist Tommy Sr. with lead guitarist Tommy Jr. The close relationship and shared enthusiasm adds an extra strength and a special touch to the rock and roll bond. And, oh yeah, the keyboard skills of both likewise adds to the band’s rich sound and versatility.

Overall, there’s a lot in the mix to make the music of DeCarlo extra-special. But, possibly one of the big bonuses that sets this band apart is their lead-vocalist’s other job DeCarlo Sr. is also the lead vocalist/front man of the legendary multi-platinum classic rock band Boston, and he hits the road every year during the summer tour season for huge concerts across the country. Yes, he’s that “More Than A Feeling,” rocker guy with fans legendary for “… getting crazy, anticipating…yeah, yeah, yeah!”

The big take away here is the harmonic conversion of cool factors launching it all to a higher level for a fun rocking time. Plus, there’s also an opportunity to build an extra connection to a local band as well as to a legendary iconic band at the same time.
