Jump into Independence Day celebrations filled with a patriotic bonanza of live music everywhere. Go Boom, shaka laka laka in downtown Rock Hill and find fun for Sunday in the Park at Baxter in Fort Mill. Celebrate freedom in the USA with a whirlwind of weekend shows and assorted parties.

Color your world Red White & Boom Sunday with lots of live sounds from The Carolina Rhythm Band, and The Atlanta Party Band, in downtown Rock Hill. This family event starts at 5:30 p.m. rolling from the Kids Zone’s carnival rides, mini golf, even a Ferris Wheel over to free concerts at two different stages for live music – first at Fountain Park with the Carolina Rhythm Band at 6:30 p.m.

Mixing up popular sounds, Carolina Rhythm Band from Fort Mill, features David Giles, lead vocals; Donnie Plyler, lead guitar/backing vocals; Laura Thompson, keyboards; Len Rogers, drums; Jennifer Tankersley, vocals; and Steve (Hollywood) Busbin, bass guitar/vocals. CRB covers a cool musical variety of classics and oldies including beach, Motown, blues, country, and classic rock.

Up next at Red White and Boom, head over to the Uptown Amphitheater on Black Street in Rock Hill to get down with at 7:15 pm. Leader Charles Smith, veteran music director from Atlanta, put together this ten piece entertainment entity that’s designed to be dynamic and dazzling. Five singers – three girls, two guys – are out front of a super fine five-piece band with keyboards, guitar, drums, trumpet and saxophone destined to deliver a massive range of music. There’s 80s-90s rock, classic rock, ballads, R & B, Top 40, country, bluegrass, beach, Motown, and lots of other styles.

Grab your boogie shoes, then get down with the Carolina Rhythm Band and The Atlanta Party Band, both live Sunday for Red White and Boom in downtown in Rock Hill. A fireworks display at 9:45 pm wraps up the day’s festivities. For more details, check Facebook or visit onlyinoldtown.com.

Let freedom also ring Sunday with Threshold, live for Music in the Park at the Baxter Community Center in Fort Mill. Star-spangled 70s, 80s, and 90s sounds from rock, Motown, R&B and Top 40 will keep the jam grand and glorious for this party band based in Fort Mill.

Threshold’s lineup is talented and experienced with Chip Chance, guitar/vocals; Robbie Hegler, bass/lead vocals; Rob Carroll, drums/lead vocals; Andy Gilliland, keyboards/lead vocals; and Jamie Lee Hart, front /lead vocals. Incidentally, Heglar is the band’s newest member. Many will remember him from his time with well known area touring bands including: Sugarcreek (The Creek), Coastline, and The Fantastic Shakers.
