Ariana Grande Spotted With Ex Ricky Alvarez Amid Reconciliation Rumors

Ariana Grande has been enjoying quality time with her ex-boyfriend Ricky Álvarez.

Grande, 33, was seen leaving a Whole Foods in Boca Raton, Florida, alongside Álvarez, 34, on Saturday, July 4, fueling reconciliation rumors.

For their low-key outing, Grande kept it casual in a gray hoodie and light blue jeans in photos published by Page Sixon Monday, July 6. She wore her brunette hair pulled back with a pink headband. Álvarez, for his part, wore a white polo top and jeans. The duo was seen loading grocery bags into a car before heading out.

Grande and the backup dancer, who dated for over a year from April 2015 through July 2016, were previously seen spending time together in June. At the time, they were spotted grabbing a bite to eat in Texas.

He notably attended her Eternal Sunshine Tour stop in Austin. During the show, Grande gave him a sweet shout-out while performing her hit "Thank U, Next," leading fans to wonder if the pair were giving their romance another shot.

Instead of singing her original lyrics, "Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh," Grande belted, "Wrote some songs about Ricky / I know he still got my back."

Grande previously shared Álvarez's reaction to the chart-topping song, telling Zach Sang during a 2019 episode of his namesake show that her ex "loved" hearing his name featured in her track.

"Ricky loved it. He was proud. But Ricky was like, ‘Why did I get the worst line?'" she said with a laugh. "And I was like, ‘What do you mean?' He was like, ‘Everyone else's line is so nice and mine is like, ‘Man f*** him, he's trash.'"

Grande continued, "I was like, I could have said that. I could have said, ‘Wrote some songs about Ricky, never mind he's trash,' but I didn't. I could have said that! But I didn't! I said, ‘Now I listen and laugh,' because it didn't work out."

Grande and Álvarez started dating after he was hired as one of her backup dancers on her Honeymoon Tour in 2015. The following summer, they broke up.

She later moved on with Mac Miller in 2016, whom she dated until early 2018. (Miller, whose real name was Malcolm James McCormick, died at age 26 in 2018 from an accidental overdose.)

Grande paid tribute to Miller in "Thank U, Next," with her verse, "Wish I could say ‘thank you' to Malcolm / ‘Cause he was an angel."

In the song, she also mentioned her whirlwind romance with now-ex Pete Davidson, whom she got engaged to in 2018: "Even almost got married / And for Pete I'm so thankful."
