HARTSVILLE -- Graveside services for Caroline Hipp Avery, 83, will be held at noon Friday, July 20, 2007 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Rock Hill, S.C. The Rev. Dr. Jeri Parris Perkins will officiate and Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home is in charge. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the residence, 833 Deer Run Drive, Hartsville, S.C., and also following the graveside at the Alisia "Liddie" Hipp home, 1022 Myrtle Drive, Rock Hill. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, Box 7044, Columbia, SC 29202.
Mrs. Avery, widow of Leslie Eugene Avery, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007. Born in Clinton, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Irby Shell and Agnes Flynn Hipp. She was a member of Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill.
Surviving are her daughter, Agnes Avery Lyles of Hartsville; sister-in-law, Liddie Hipp of Rock Hill; grandsons (spouses), Tripp (Barbie) Lyles and Avery (Megan) Lyles, all of Hartsville; stepgranddaughter, Mellette Lyles of Hartsville; great-granddaughter, Harleigh Lyles; stepgreat-granddaughters, Allison Gaskins and Allana Ingram. She was preceded in death by her brother, Irby Shell Hipp and her sister, Agnes Hipp.
